The Monday night teams have released their injury-report listings, and it looks like Detroit will be without two of its top three cornerbacks. About 260 yards and 2 TDs for Joe Flacco? Probably.
The Monday night injury report is out, and it contains good news if you’re considering starting Joe Flacco or any of his pass catchers – Torrey Smith, Dennis Pitta, Jacoby Jones, Marlon Brown.
The Lions almost certainly will be without two of their top three cornerbacks. Chris Houston (toe) and Darius Slay (knee) are both doubtful, and neither practiced all week. This is very good news for Flacco and Co.
Detroit’s defense has been only so-so against the pass anyway. It did fine in Philadelphia, but that game was played in a snowstorm. The previous week, the Lions had no problem with Green Bay, but the Packers were using Matt Flynn at quarterback.
In each of their previous six games, the Lions allowed at least 2 TD passes. They’ve been very tough against the run, so we’re figuring probably all of Baltimore’s touchdowns in this game will come on passes.
The Ravens haved tagged Elvis Dumervil (ankle) as questionable.
For the Lions, Calvin Johnson (knee) is probable – he’s fine. The question mark there is Reggie Bush. Bush is questionable with the calf injury he aggravated in warmups on Sunday. He was able to do some limited work in practice on Friday and Saturday. Our expectation is Bush will play, but it’s not a certainty. Baltimore has been very good against the run, allowing only 3 rushing TDs, but that’s only a small part of Bush’s game – he’s a run/catch/yards guy.
