Question
Twenty years ago this week, league owners voted in the 2-point conversion for the 1994 season. What Cleveland Browns player, on opening day that year, was the first to score on one of these plays?
Answer
Tom Tupa (he lined up as a holder for a conventional kick, but then stood up and ran it in on a fake). The game was played at Cincinnati, and the Browns (then coached by Bill Belichick) won 28-20. Cleveland got to 28 points with 3 touchdowns and two field goals.
