Question
The Bucs and Falcons play tonight. Warrick Dunn once had 1,000-yard seasons for each of these teams. That's odd -- a running back going for 1,000 yards for two teams in the same division. What is the only team that's had three running backs go over 1,000 yards and also have 1,000-yard seasons with all three of the other teams that are currently in its own division?
Answer
San Francisco, with Ricky Watters (Seahawks), Wendell Tyler (Rams) and Garrison Hearst (Cardinals). The Seahawks weren't in the NFC West when Watters went over 1,000 for them, but whatever. Others who've pulled the 1000-for-teams-in-the-same-division trick include Curtis Martin (Jets/Patriots), Jamal Lewis (Browns/Ravens), Herschel Walker (Eagles/Cowboys) and Ottis Anderson (Cardinals/Giants -- the Cardinals used to be in the NFC East).
