Question

The Cardinals on Saturday beat the Packers in overtime. They also beat Green Bay in overtime in a playoff game in the 2009 season. What are the only other two teams that have met twice in overtime in playoff games in this century? Hint: As with the two Cardinals-Packers games, both of those games were decided by touchdowns in overtime.

Answer

Green Bay and Seattle. The Packers beat Seattle 33-27 at Lambeau in 2003 (the game where Matt Hasselbeck said, "We'll take the ball and we're going to score."), and the Seahawks came back to beat the Packers last year in the NFC Championship game. The only other teams that have met multiple times in overtime playoff games are the Steelers and Titans. Tennessee won 34-31 at Nashville in 2002, and the Steelers beat that franchise when it was the Houston Oilers following the 1989 season, 26-23 in overtime.
