Question
Arizona and Carolina play today, and for the first time ever, two Heisman-winning quarterbacks are starting against each other in a playoff game. Setting aside what positions are being played, what were the only two playoff games in this century in which both teams had a Heisman winner who was a starter in their lineup? (One team was involved in two of the games).
Answer
In January, 2002, Oakland (with Tim Brown and Charles Woodson) played against the Jets (with Vinny Testaverde starting). The next year, the Raiders played against Tennessee, who had Eddie George as their main running back.
