Sort of a down week for me last week. Luckily I remembered at the last minute to get Leonard Fournette out of my lineup, but I didn't make a wise choice on my replacement (Aaron Jones). So I'm once again a few spots South of most of the rest of the Fantasy Index crew. Time to move back up the rankings.
You can enter under Your Stuff at the top right of the screen. It's similar to our old SuperLeague competition, except you're prevented from using sure-fire, slam-dunk superstars.
Quarterback: No quarterbacks blacked out; interesting! I'm going to welcome a couple of Matts onto my team, Matt Ryan -- wishful thinking perhaps, but I could really use a big game out of him -- and Matthew Stafford, because Detroit can't very well risk running the ball in the vicinity of the end zone.
Running back: Zeke, Fournette, Gurley and Bell are blacked out. Are there other running backs in the league? Wait, I've found my guys. Melvin Gordon against Jacksonville and Jordan Howard against the Sad Bay Packers. If I decide to switch off Gordon, and I might, it will probably be for Carlos Hyde against the Walking Dead Giants.
Wide receiver: I would like to use Julio Jones, but he's not 100 percent and I don't want to have to remember to switch him out on Sunday morning when I'm busy telling people not to start Jay Ajayi. I will however use the presumably sheepish A.J. Green at Tennessee, on-fire Marvin Jones against Cleveland, and Michael Thomas up in Buffalo -- guy has GOT to get in the end zone this week. Antonio Brown is blacked out. If Julio gets a clean bill of health, I'll swap out one Jones for another.
Tight end: Gronk is blacked out. Eventually Evan Engram will probably be blacked out, but until he is, I'm gonna keep on using him. None of the other choices look great, but I'll go with Jack Doyle (with Pittsburgh probably more interested in covering T.Y. Hilton) and maybe consider Jason Witten (a lot of quiet games, but Dallas-Atlanta should be higher scoring and the Cowboys might be missing a wideout or two.
Kicker: Nobody blacked out. I'll take Gostkowski and Prater. Lambo, Succop and Boswell all look good, too.
Defense: Detroit and Pittsburgh are blacked out. I will take the Rams versus Tom Savage-led Houston and the Patriots versus Houston's quarterback from last year, Brock Osweiler.
Good luck to the rest of you.
