Question
Buffalo plays New England twice in the next four weeks, giving Kelvin Benjamin (currently gimpy with a knee injury) two opportunities to potentially go for 100 yards against an opponent twice in the same season while playing for different teams. Benjamin caught 4 passes for 104 yards at Foxborough in Week 4 as a member of the Panthers. No wide receiver has ever done this. But it’s happened with a running back. Who was said player, who 30 years ago ran for over 100 yards twice against the same opponent while playing for different NFL teams?
Answer
Eric Dickerson. In Week 1 of the 1987 season, he ran for 149 yards for the Rams in their opener at the Astrodome. After being traded to the Colts, Dickerson ran for 136 yards in a home game against the Oilers that same season.
