Russell Wilson and Derek Carr are good quarterbacks, but they need to get back on track after sputtering late last year.
Below see the list of the 25 quarterbacks who last year attempted at least 100 passes in both the first half of the season and in the second half of the year. Of that group, Wilson and Carr declined the most – they had the largest falls in passer ratings.
In the case of Wilson, he was on fire in the first half of last year, averaging 318 passing yards per game, with 28 TDs versus 8 interceptions. But in the second half of the year, he averaged only 209 passing yards per game, with 12 TDs and 5 interceptions. Converting to passer rating, Wilson fell from 117.1 in his first eight games to just 91.3 in the second half of the year.
Carr was the 2nd-largest faller. In his first eight games he threw 16 TDs versus only 2 interceptions. In his final eight, he dipped to 11 TDs and 7 interceptions. His passer rating fell by 17.2 points.
Two New York quarterbacks last year had the most improvement in their passer ratings (in part because they were so awful in their first eight games).
