Packers sans Adams

Green Bay moves on without its franchise receiver

I wonder how much the Packers will miss Davante Adams? Great receiver, of course, but they’ve played without him in the past, and the offense hasn’t fallen apart.

Green Bay, in fact, has played seven games without Adams in the last three years, and the offense has actually been BETTER in those games, at least by the numbers. More yards, points and wins.

The Packers are 7-0 without Adams in the Matt LaFleur era, and they’ve averaged 31.6 points in those games. That includes wins at Dallas, Kansas City, New Orleans and Arizona – Green Bay was an underdog in three of those games. They’ve also won home games against the Lions, Falcons and Raiders.

Aaron Rodgers has averaged 293 passing yards in his seven games without Adams, with 19 touchdowns and only 1 interception.

Aaron Jones has been better and more involved without Adams. He’s averaged 67 rushing and 55 receiving yards in those seven games, with 10 TDs.

I suppose they’ll miss Adams in some degree. He’s really good, and they don’t have another receiver with that kind of ability. But they’ve still got plenty of firepower, looking like the runaway favorites to win the NFC North.
