Sunday morning injury updates

Olave, Dell should play

The last-minute injury updates are coming in, and it's kind of a good news-bad news thing, I think. The good news is that most injured players of interest are expected to play. The bad news is that there won't be certainty on some of them until the inactives are released. But here's what we have so far.

  • Chris Olave (concussion) is expected to play. Great matchup with the Lions, so use him if he's active.

  • For Houston, WR Tank Dell (calf) is expected to play. So is WR Noah Brown (knee). I'm proceeding as if Dell will get his normal reps and am using him. Brown is the No. 3, so less appealing. Broncos pass defense has played pretty well lately.

  • Keenan Allen (quad) is expected to play. Using him as normal, as well.

  • Chris Godwin (neck) is a gametime decision; the team will see how he feels in pregame warmups. I'm not exactly sure how that works with a neck injury; will they hit him in the throat a bunch, or throw a lot of passes that he has to twist around for? Whatever, Godwin hasn't been great enough that you should risk this injury unless you don't have a comparably ranked option.

  • Jerick McKinnon (groin) is out for the Kansas City game at Green Bay. Good news for those of us planning to use Isiah Pacheco anyway; should get even more chances in the passing game.

  • Marquise Brown (heel) is expected to play, and based on last week he can put up good numbers even when coming off on an injury that cost him some practice time. Should be fine to use at Pittsburgh. Same game, Trey McBride (groin) is expected to play.

  • Both Travis Etienne (chest) and Tee Higgins (hamstring) should play in the Monday night game.

  • Ian Rapoport says the recovery time for Jonathan Taylor (thumb) is 3-5 weeks. Zack Moss should be very good in the fantasy playoffs. Taylor won't necessarily play again in the fantasy season, potentially needing the Colts in the playoffs to suit up before the 2024 season.
