Veteran Kicker Mason Crosby signed to Rams practice squad

Crosby to be elevated to the active roster “in the near future”

16-year veteran and former Green Bay Packers kicker, Crosby has signed with the Los Angeles Rams in hopes of bringing some consistency to the position as the Rams vie for a NFC playoff spot.

Brett Maher started the season as the Rams kicker, but he was cut after missing seven kicks in seven games. Then came Luke Havrisik. However, with the playoffs on the line, the Rams appear to be likely to start the veteran Crosby as Havrisik has been struggling the last few games.

He missed a field goal attempt this past Sunday in the Rams’ win over the Browns and missed a field goal and extra point the week prior in Arizona. Havrisik is 7-for-10 on field goal attempts and 10-for-11 on points after this season.

The 39-year old, 16-year veteran Crosby, who played his entire career with the Green Bay Packers, is one of the most consistent kickers in NFL history. He boasted 225 games played, 395-485 of field goals made (81.4%) and 733 extra points. Crosby won a Super Bowl with the Packers in 2011.

The Los Angeles Rams (6-6) have a three-game winning streak going as they battle against the 9-3 Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The Rams are on the bubble in the current playoff standings going into Week 14.
