Top Three Picks in the 2024 NFL Draft are locked in

The first three selections of the 2024 NFL Draft are starting to shape up. Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles, head coach Matt Eberflus, and offensive coordinator Shane Waldron were present during the University of Southern California’s Pro Day to witness quarterback Caleb Williams.

The Bears need a quarterback after trading Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They also need more talent to upgrade their depth chart from Tyson Bagent and Brett Rypien.

Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated revealed that the Washington Commanders are leaning toward 2023 Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels as their pick at number two. However, it isn’t certain if he will start or be the backup to Marcus Mariota to start his NFL career.

Likewise, the Commanders traded Sam Howell to the Seattle Seahawks, leaving them with only Mariota and Jake Fromm as their quarterbacks.

In that case, the New England Patriots might have a chance to land Drake Maye. Earlier mock drafts revealed that Maye might go before the former LSU standout. However, the Commanders might prefer Daniels because of his throwing display and confidence.

The Patriots are resetting the quarterback depth chart after trading Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

But after those three players, the destination of the fourth quarterback remains unclear. Some teams, like the Minnesota Vikings, might try to trade up to select former Michigan play-caller and National Champion J.J. McCarthy. The New York Giants are also reportedly interested in McCarthy.
