DeVonta Smith, Eagles Agree To Three-Year, $75 Million Contract Extension

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith and the Philadelphia Eagles agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension worth up to $75 million. The Eagles also exercised Smith’s fifth-year option worth $15.59 million, which will take effect in 2025.

Add the three years to the extension, and Smith will be under contract until 2028. While the annual terms of Smith's new contract have not yet been disclosed, Smith will get $51 million in guaranteed money.

Smith has steadily contributed to the Eagles' offense, finishing with 1,000-yard performances in 2022 (1,083) and 2023 (1,043). More importantly, he only missed one game and collected 19 touchdowns in three seasons.

The Eagles selected Smith with the 10th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, giving him a four-year, $20.1 million rookie scale contract. A year later, they traded for A.J. Brown, giving Jalen Hurts more options in the passing game.

This offseason, the Eagles signed Saquon Barkley to establish the running attack. They also added DeVante Parker and Parris Campbell to fortify their wide receiver depth chart.

Philadelphia locked in Smith to an extension before other wide receivers signed lucrative contract extensions. Some wideouts eligible for their next contract are Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb, and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
