Vikings Rookie CB Khyree Jackson Passes Away

The Minnesota Vikings won’t be able to witness Khyree Jackson reach his full potential after the rookie cornerback tragically passed away along with his two former teammates at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School. The fatal accident occurred in Maryland when a driver struck two vehicles, including the car where Jackson was a passenger while driving at high speed.

The Vikings selected Jackson in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. He was their third selection this year after quarterback J.J. McCarthy and defensive end Dallas Turner. While finishing college football in Oregon, he played for the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Fort Scott Greyhounds.

He showed his talent in his lone season with the Ducks, earning First-Team All-Pac 12 honors last year after tallying 34 tackles, seven passes defended, three interceptions, and two sacks.

Jackson could have joined a cornerback room that also features Shaquill Griffin, Byron Murphy Jr., Mekhi Blackmon, and Akayleb Evans.
