CeeDee Lamb Isn't Entertaining Questions About His Contract Negotiations

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb will host a youth football camp at Round Rock, Texas, on July 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. The camp is open to participants aged 6 to 16 with their parents or guardians. However, some people or media members might ask about his ongoing contract negotiations with the Cowboys. He responded that he wouldn’t answer questions of that nature and that the activity would be for the kids.

Lamb shared about being mum regarding the contract talks via his X/Twitter account.

CeeDee Lamb and the Cowboys haven’t agreed to a contract extension, even if training camp is just two weeks away. He’s still under contract in 2024 via the fifth-year option of his rookie-scale contract. But without an extension, he could walk away after the season while the Cowboys get nothing in return.

A contract extension for Lamb must be a no-brainer after a fantastic 2023 season (135 receptions, 1,749 yards, 12 touchdowns) wherein he earned a First-Team All-Pro selection. He also became the first NFL player to have at least ten receptions and 150 receiving yards in three consecutive games.

Lamb was a massive part of the Cowboys' offense because Dallas’ second-place receiver last season, Brandin Cooks, had 54 receptions for 657 yards and eight touchdowns.

Lamb’s contract extension won’t come cheap, especially after Justin Jefferson signed a four-year, $140 million contract extension. His camp might demand a value lower than Jefferson’s but slightly higher than A.J. Brown’s $32 million annual average. Therefore, Lamb’s new contract might have a yearly average of $33-$34 million.
