The Atlanta Falcons used their final offensive drive to steal the victory away from the Philadelphia Eagles in their 2024 Week 2 Monday Night Football showdown. Despite trailing by six points with little time left in the game, the Falcons engineered a six-play, 70-yard drive that resulted in a Drake London touchdown.
The Eagles left the door open for the Falcons after Saquon Barkley failed to secure a pass that would have given them first down. From there, they could have milked the clock to remain undefeated to start the season. Instead, Jake Elliott’s field goal extended the Eagles’ lead to six with less than two minutes left in regulation.
From there, Cousins started the winning drive with a completion to Kyle Pitts. The hurried-up offense saw Cousins connect with Darnell Mooney twice before the veteran quarterback found London in the end zone.
Younghoe Koo’s point-after had the Falcons in the driver’s seat, and safety Jessie Bates sealed the 22-21 victory with an interception.

Cousins finished the game with 20 completions for 241 yards and two touchdowns. He converted 13 passes out of 16 attempts for 166 yards and two scores in the second half alone.
Mooney and London combined for 142 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Bijan Robinson added 97 rushing yards on 14 carries. This victory should give the Falcons some confidence as they face the two-time defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, next week. Meanwhile, the Eagles will try to bounce back in their Week 3 road game versus the New Orleans Saints.
