After their season-opening road game loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the New York Jets earned their second consecutive victory in a one-sided Thursday Night Football game against the New England Patriots. The Jets settled the 24-3 final score after Greg Zuerlein converted a 28-yard field goal with 10:16 left in the fourth quarter.
The Jets scored 14 unanswered points over the game's first 23 minutes before the Patriots had points on the board courtesy of a Joey Slye field goal. Those were New England's only points, as Jacoby Brissett and Drake Maye combined for only 120 passing yards. Worst yet, the Patriots tallied only 78 rushing yards, led by Antonio Gibson's 29.

The Jets defense swarmed the Patriots offense all game, leading to seven sacks, five tackles for losses, and 15 quarterback hits. Will McDonald IV had two sacks, while Javon Kinlaw and Quinnen Williams had one each. Meanwhile, safety Chuck Clark had a sack and a fumble recovery for the 2-1 Jets.
Conversely, playing error-free football on offense allowed the Jets to negate their eight penalties for 106 yards. Breece Hall continued his touchdown streak this season via a one-yard rushing score in the second quarter. Likewise, Allen Lazard and Garrett Wilson caught touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers.
The Jets can extend their winning streak to three games if they defeat the Denver Broncos at home next week, Sept. 29. The Patriots can avoid a three-game losing skid with a road win against the San Francisco 49ers.
