Sadly, T.J. Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers fell short of the victory against the Dallas Cowboys during their 2024 Week 5 Sunday Night Football showdown. However, the 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year reached a personal milestone by tallying his 100th career sack.
Watt finished the game with 1.5 sacks, giving him 101 in the regular season. As the NFL’s official account on X/Twitter pointed out, Watt is the second-fastest player to reach that milestone. The late Reggie White beats Watt, achieving the century mark in 96 games.
2nd fastest player to ever reach this milestone...

Meanwhile, it took Watt 13 games more to reach 100 career sacks. However, this achievement by Watt is another feather in the cap of his fantastic career. Since entering the league in 2017, he has been a Pro Bowler or an All-Pro member, except in his rookie year. He also finished in the top three of the Defensive Player of the Year voting in four of his first seven seasons.
While Watt is among the league’s best pass rushers, he has much left in his tank. He’s only 29 years old and has one year left in his current contract. However, it’s hard to imagine that T.J. Watt is playing in the final contract in the NFL. Instead, he’s set for another massive payday, given how he plays for the Steelers.
