Last year, the San Francisco 49ers were a defensive stop away from winning Super Bowl LVIII. Players like Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk helped them reach their second Super Bowl appearance in five years. Unfortunately, they’re not having the same luck to start the 2024 season.
In addition to winning only three of their first seven games, injuries have plagued the Niners’ star-studded offense. McCaffrey is out with an Achilles injury, and his return is uncertain. Likewise, Kittle is day-to-day after suffering a sprained foot. Meanwhile, Samuel is at the hospital due to pneumonia and fluid in his lungs.

Finally, Aiyuk will be out for the season after tearing his ACL and MCL during their Week 7 match against the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s a depressing ending for Aiyuk after he signed a four-year, $120 million contract.
With some of their offensive starters unavailable, Brock Purdy’s performance has also been affected. Worse yet, they generated only 18 points in their loss to the Chiefs. However, things might start to look up once the 49ers have everyone in good health. They’ll be impossible to stop when everyone is available.
