Dak Prescott Sidelined By A Hamstring Injurry

The 2024 NFL season keeps getting worse for the Dallas Cowboys. They have fallen to 3-5 after their third consecutive loss, a 27-21 setback against the Atlanta Falcons. Likewise, they have the worst rushing attack in the league. Worst yet, starting quarterback Dak Prescott will be out of action due to a hamstring injury.

As the NFL’s post on X (formerly Twitter) mentioned, the three-time Pro Bowler will be out for multiple weeks due to his condition. While it’s uncertain how long he will be out of action, it’s another obstacle to the Cowboys’ goal of making a postseason return.

Prescott has struggled with the absence of a potent rushing attack this season. Through eight games, the former Mississippi State standout has 185 completions for 1,978 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Six of those eight picks occurred in their games for Week 6 (vs. Detroit Lions), 8 (vs. San Francisco 49ers), and 9 (vs. Atlanta). The long-time Cowboys starter had a season-low 133 passing yards against the Falcons.

With Prescott sidelined, it would be difficult for him to match his 2023 stats (410 completions, 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns), which earned him a Second-Team All-Pro selection. Meanwhile, Cooper Rush will take over from him starting in Week 10 when the Cowboys host their division rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. Rush had 13 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons.
