Question
In the Super Bowl era, who’s the only Hall of Fame quarterback who finished a playoff game with 5 interceptions and no touchdowns? (The question wouldn’t asked if the answer wasn’t somewhat notable – if there wasn’t some kind of catch or tie-in.)
Answer
Dan Fouts. In January, 1980, the Chargers were the AFC’s top seed in the playoffs, hosting Houston. But they fell flat, with the Oilers winning 17-14. The Steelers (who had lost 35-7 at San Diego in November), then hosted and beat Houston in the AFC Championship game, going on to win their fourth Super Bowl. The Chargers play Houston again today (though that city now has the Texans rather than the Oilers).
