Question
In the last 30 years, what’s the only team that’s selected two running backs in the same draft who both had seasons (at some point in their careers) with 10-plus touchdowns? Neither back was selected in the first three rounds.
Answer
Green Bay. In 2017, the Packers picked Jamaal Williams in the fourth round and Aaron Jones in the fifth. Williams (recently released by New Orleans) scored 17 touchdowns for the Lions in 2022, while Jones had three double-digit touchdown seasons for Green Bay. Since the merger, four other pairs (selected in the traditional draft) have pulled this off, but difficult for most to come up with any of them. 1971 Colts (Don McCauley, Don Nottingham), 1976 Chargers (Chuck Muncie, Tony Galbreath), 1979 Cardinals (Ottis Anderson, Theotis Brown) and 1986 Dolphins (Lorenzo Hampton, Ron Davenport).
