QB Jalen Milroe visiting Seahawks, Rams

With NFL teams putting a premium on quarterback play, former Alabama standout Jalen Milroe could go early in the draft. Franchises that need a quarterback would be intrigued with the versatility he brings as a pass and a runner.

Hence, Milroe is visiting some NFL teams before the draft. As ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported, the 2023 Second-Team All-SEC member will meet with the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams.

These teams have varying quarterback situations. The Seahawks signed Sam Darnold to a three-year, $100.5 million contract and Drew Lock to a two-year, $5 million deal. However, drafting Milroe could put pressure on Darnold to make things work.

Meanwhile, the Rams signed Matthew Stafford to a restructured contract, keeping him until 2026. However, they don’t have a concrete solution when Stafford retires or is unavailable due to injury. The Rams could be intrigued by Milroe as a project who will learn from a Super Bowl-winning QB.

In his final year with the Crimson Tide, Jalen Milroe had 205 completions for 2,844 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also had 168 carries for 726 yards and 20 rushing touchdowns. If he continues to develop, he could be in the mold of mobile quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson, Justin Fields, and Jalen Hurts.
