Play along with the Fantasy Index crew in our fun and exciting Blackout competition. Each week, choose 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 2 TEs and 2 defenses. Scores accumulate throughout the season and there will be only one Champion at the end!

Most weeks will have the classic Blackout format; with many of the top and most popular players removed from the player pool. Other weeks are going to present you with a themed challenge that may flood the player pool with top players or may cut to the bone and test the depth of your roster knowledge.
Returning for the Week 1 theme is “Out With the Old!”. Players from all 2025 Division Winners will be unavailable. That means no Seahawks, Patriots, Eagles, Steelers, Jaguars, Broncos, Bears, or Panthers in Week 1. As an additional wrinkle, I’ve given myself up to three extra blackouts at each position. Just to keep Josh Allen, Chase, Gibbs, Bijan and CMC from appearing on 100% of rosters.
Each week's high score (PPR scoring) will win a $25 Fantasy Index gift certificate, and the season champ will win a nice prize package including a spot in the 2027 Experts Poll and a spot in the Fantasy Index Invitational League. The biggest advantage you can give yourself in the Blackout is to play every week so enter for Week 1 and stay in the hunt for the season championship!
