PRIMETIME Wins Blackout

Jamie Alberts from Sturgeon Bay, WI bet on bounce back performances and hit big with Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams and Jake Ferguson to claim the top spot. Currently 3rd in the overall rankings, Jamie is in great position to improve on his top 100 finish in 2025.

Week 3 of the Blackout competition is LIVE!

Week 2 brought us another swath of injuries, some season enders and some that will probably be walked off in time for Week 3. Let me add one more to the latter group, your Blackout Admin, myself! I was laid up in bed sick Tuesday and Wednesday, so apologies for the delay in this week’s contest.

Our Week 2 winner also ran afoul of the injury bug with Jayden Daniels going down with a brutal elbow dislocation. Daniels was one of the most selected quarterbacks, appearing on 25-percent of Blackout rosters. By comparison Stafford was selected by just 13-percent of managers. His 32.25 points wasn’t enough to land him in the top 2 but it did help salvage the winning roster along with big scores from Adams (9-percent) and Ferguson (3-percent!!). The Wisdom of the Crowd roster reads like a snapshot of several of my fantasy rosters this year. A hit or two, a bunch of injuries and betrayal everywhere else! The good this week came from James Cook who rewarded his position high 41-percent selection rate with a RB1 finish. Chris Olave and the Patriots Defense, both at 28-percent, came through with solid scores. Daniels and FI favorite DJ Moore failed to finish the week. Daniels at least had the decency to put up 16 points before exiting. Moore’s -0.10 was not so helpful. I’ll leave it to you to see how badly the rest of our favorites let us down. Check out the Wisdom of the crowd score, which managed a lowly 43-percent of the available points:

The perfect roster put up a big number this week, 307 points, and made it hard on players by excluding ten of the top scoring players. There is something of a dearth in parity thus far, with the most well-known players also dominating the leaderboard. I think the player pool in Week 3 should provide some tough choices but if things keep going like this, I’ll have to change things up. Here is the max points roster:

As mentioned above, this week’s winner PRIMETIME, is in great shape at 3rd overall. The Week 1 champ, Brack Varnon, had a tough time in Week 2, finishing 179th, but he’s still looking strong at 4th overall. Last season’s overall winner, Nate S. rebounded with a solid 76th place finish in Week 2. He is lurking at 61st overall, in good position to press the leaders all year. Atop the 2026 leaderboard is Matt G. who finished 3rd in Week 1 and 2nd in Week 2 to open up a massive 39-point lead over the field. That’s the kind of lead that could hold all year or evaporate before you know it. Here is a look at the Top 25 overall through two weeks:
