It's Sunday morning, and there are some weather and injury-related developments. Some, anyway, but much is still hazy.
First the weather. Titans-Giants in East Rutherford, New Jersey looks likely (60-70 percent chance) to be raining, with winds up to 15 mph. Not great conditions for passing, but not, I don't think, impossible. I live somewhat near there, it's windy but not raining where I am. For what it's worth. Similar conditions in the Seahawks-Commanders game. Maybe I'd use it to break a tie, but I'm personally using Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely. Jaxson Smith-Njigba obviously. Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs and Titans receivers are less certain, but that would be the case if the games were being played in a dome.
Seems like Zay Flowers will be sitting out, as expected. Rashod Bateman has the negative baggage of being inconsistent and unreliable Rashod Bateman, but he was very good as the No. 1 a week ago and should be again. Ranked appropriately in the Friday update.
(Side note: what's with these "a true gametime decision" reports. Is the qualifying necessary? Are there fake gametime decisions? Just call a guy a gametime decision and move on.)
Jalen Coker (ankle) is expected to play. Xavier Legette (knee), who no one is considering anyway, is just a regular old gametime decision.
I have not seen an update on DJ Moore (shoulder). I expect he’s playing, but given the injury I’m a little less comfortable using him. Ranking in the Friday update looks a little high. But let’s see what reports are.
Jaylen Warren (shoulder, questionable) is expected to play for the Steelers. With Rico Dowdle out, Warren should be featured, with the injury the only real concern. Warren also ranked appropriately on Friday. Same game, Michael Pittman (foot) expected to play.
Brock Bowers (knee) is expected to play. Some risk, but I’m using him if he’s active.
Mike Evans (hip) is expected to play.
Colby Parkinson (knee) might play for the Rams. Parkinson isn't a great option at the moment but is a slight drag on the appeal of Terrance Ferguson. (Slight; I still like Ferguson.)
A note on Jonah Coleman, on IR with a high-ankle sprain. A lot of teeth-gnashing out there, with people who used a waiver claim on him or spent a lot of money adding him upset. It's unfortunate, but there's nothing sinister about it. (Side note, Coleman was drafted in all of my leagues.) Coleman apparently injured the ankle early in Denver's last game but continued to play through it. Good on him, since Denver would have been down to just Tyler Badie and probably lost last week without him. Since he continued playing, including a 12-yard run on Denver's last pre-kneeldown play, nobody inquired about his health status after the game and Denver (perhaps) wasn't even aware there was an issue until Wednesday, when the team returned to practice. Sucks, but that's the NFL.
A Monday note, both Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith are a-OK for tomorrow's game. No Dallas Goedert (as known) or Hollywood Brown (who no one is rostering).
Also Monday, Caleb Williams is officially out, but Tyson Bagent (concussion) practiced fully yesterday and may clear the protocol in order to start the game. A plus for the Bears, as compared to Case Keenum. Bagent isn't Caleb, but at least he's played a game since 2023.
If I see any other significant updates before the early games kick off I'll post in the comments below.
