Mtn Maniac Wins Blackout

Guessing the top scoring QB or RB was nearly impossible this week but Mark Meyer of Ocean Park, WA hit on the RB2, Bucky Irving, and the WR1, Zay Flowers, on his way to the top spot.

Week 8 of the Blackout competition is LIVE!

The Mtn Maniacs also started the TE1 Colston Loveland which was a surprisingly esoteric pick. Only 15-percent of rosters included the Bears stud, Tucker Kraft pulled a 57-percent roster rate and finished TE3 while the second most drafted TE, Sam LaPorta, left a wide swath of broken rosters behind with just 2.8 fantasy points. Loveland is not available in the Week 8 pool, but LaPorta is, double down at your own risk! Here is this week’s winning roster :

We are back down to just three managers with Top 100 finishes in six out of seven weeks. The Naugatuck Riverrattlers and Jeffrey B. join FISH ON as the only teams to accomplish this feat. The Riverrattlers are in 3rd place overall, Mr. B. is sitting in 6th and FISH ON is finally flirting with the top 10 at 12th overall. Can anyone extend their streak to seven of eight?

The most popular roster nabbed just 54% of the available points and failed to select any top finishing players. Kraft provided a solid outing and Javonte Williams chipped in the 6th highest RB score. Derrick Henry was a big bust but finds himself near the top of the rankings and in the player pool for Week 8. Are you feeling lucky? Well, are ya!? This week provided two diamonds in the rough. Rahmondre Stevenson finished as the RB4 and KC Concepcion was the WR5. However, neither earned a single Blackout roster spot.

The top scoring roster included just five blacked out players, but I was not joking when I said it was a neigh on impossible week to find the top guys. Bo Nix and Geno Smith were drafted in the low single digits, though in an odd piece of kismet, Nix was also the top scoring Blackout QB in Week 7 of last season. Tony Pollard’s 3 TD explosion likewise benefited less than 1-percent of entries and the Falcons Defense failed to earn a single start. Here is the max points roster:

Big news for the bottom of the writeup, we have a new overall leader! Alpha Wolves has provided steady pressure with 4 top 50 finishes and broke through with an 18th place finish in Week 8. Matt G. fell from the top spot behind a 250th place roster. He hit on Bucky Irving but ate big duds from Henry and LaPorta as well as Tyler Higbee, Matthew Golden and Justin Jefferson. Last week’s winner, Viva Murillo! fared little better and slid to 5th overall, though I give him credit for starting Braelon Allen who finished as the RB8 on just 9-percent of rosters.
