Believe in the Vikings?

Passing game could rebound this week

Minnesota's passing game has been a disappointment. Adam Thielen called out his quarterback, his offensive coordinator, or both this week. "You have to be able to pass the ball," he groused. I think Thielen will get back on track in this game.

Kirk Cousins has apologized to Thielen, which is kind of funny; almost seems like Thielen is the one who should be apologizing. But whatever. I'm a believer in the squeaky wheel getting the grease, and I think Thielen will see plenty of passes this week.

Best of all, Cousins, Thielen and Stefon Diggs will be facing a lousy Giants defense this week. Yes, New York just shut down Washington. Big deal. In their previous three games, they got lit up big time by wide receivers.

Here's how starting wideouts fared against New York the first three weeks of the season, until Dwayne Haskins got into the lineup against them in Week 4.

STARTING WRS VS. GIANTS, WKS 1-3
PlayerNoYdsTD
Cooper, Dall.61061
Gallup, Dall.71580
Brown, Buff.7720
Beasley, Buff.4830
Evans, T.B.81903
Godwin, T.B.3400

Chris Godwin didn't do much against New York; maybe he was banged-up with that hip injury that cost him practice time last week, or maybe it was just a case of Mike Evans being too wide open all the time. Everybody else was very good.

Anyway, I'd be happily using Thielen and Diggs this Sunday. And I think Cousins, who used to play at MetLife each year with Washington, should be solid, too.
