Trivia for January 18, 2020

Question

Aaron Rodgers in the earlier Packers-49ers game completed 20 of 33 passes for only 104 yards. That’s only 3.1 yards per attempt (1.7 if we’re including 38 yards lost on 5 sacks). In the last two years, who is the only other quarterback who’s had a game in which he’s completed at least 20 passes and averaged fewer than 4 yards per attempt? It happened in 2018, and said quarterback hasn’t attempted a pass in a regular-season game since that time.

Answer

Nathan Peterman. In a 41-9 loss against Chicago, Peterman completed 31 of 49 passes for 188 yards. That’s 3.8 per attempt (or 3.1 if 22 yards lost on 4 sacks are included). Peterman played for the Bills that year; he spent 2019 as a backup with the Raiders. Numbers were put together using the sort tools at the Pro Football Reference website.
