CeeDee Lamb had modest outputs during the first five games of the 2023 Dallas Cowboys season. While he started strong with 77 and 143 yards in Weeks 1 and 2, he struggled with 138 total yards on 12 receptions over the next three weeks. Lamb had 11 catches in Week 2 against the New York Jets.
But after their humiliating loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the former Oklahoma standout has been impressive. He caught all seven passes thrown to him for 117 yards in their Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
After their bye week, Lamb elevated his game by collecting 12 catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns against the Los Angeles Rams. In Week 9, he finished with 191 yards and 11 receptions versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
In Week 10, he had 151 receiving yards, a touchdown, and another 14-yard rushing score in their dominating win against division rivals New York Giants. That’s four straight games with at least 100 yards for the fourth-year wideout.
His dominating stretch allowed him to carve a spot in the NFL record books by becoming the first wide receiver with three consecutive games of at least ten catches and 150 receiving yards. The National Football League has been around for 104 seasons, and no one has done it before. His production over the last five weeks puts him at 975 yards, the third-most behind Tyreek Hill and A.J. Brown.
More importantly, the Cowboys have won three of their last four games, losing only to the Eagles. They will have their chance at payback when they host the defending NFC champions in Week 14. Until then, Lamb has an opportunity to keep this impressive run.
After the Giants, they will visit the 1-8 Carolina Panthers. In Week 12, they will host the Washington Commanders, ranked 29th in passing yards allowed (264.3) per game. After which, they will welcome the Seattle Seahawks at AT&T Stadium. Seattle ranks 22nd in passing yards allowed through Week 10.
Then there’s the rematch against Philadelphia, a team that has given up 257 passing yards per game, the fifth-worst rate through Week 10.
