Fields set to return Sunday against the Lions after being sidelined for 4 games due to a thumb injury.
During Wednesday's press conference, HC Matt Eberflus said of Fields, “He’s progressing well and our plan is to start him this week.”
While Fields has been out for four games, undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent has started, leading the Bears to a 2-2 record including securing a 16-13 victory against the now 1-8 Carolina Panthers last Sunday.
Eberflus continued, “This will be a big evaluation today. Going full speed, doing full-speed reps. So, it’ll be a big evaluation today.”
For 2023, Fields has thrown for 1,201 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 6 INTs with a QB rating of 91.6 and a completion percentage of 61.7.
Chicago faces off against the 7-2 Lions in Detroit this Sunday at 1pm/12pm ET/CT.
