Rumors are swirling that the Bengals QB Joe Burrow was injured prior to last night's game against Baltimore.
Last night's game was rife with injuries to key players. While Burrow left the field in the second quarter, just before the half, Ravens TE Mark Andrews limped off the field to the locker room with what has been confirmed to be a season-ending ankle injury, which he suffered after LB Logan Wilson tackled him from behind and rolled on his ankle.
Burrow ended up suffering a right wrist injury while throwing a TD and while he took a hit from Jadeveon Clowney on the previous play, it did not appear to have been impacting and it is unclear how the injury occurred.
While further information about the injury and the possible violation of NFL injury notification rules is pending, it was announced that Burrow's injury is severe enough to sideline him for the rest of the season, further complicating the Bengals' already tumultuous season.
The struggling Bengals sit at 5-5 and are in last place behind the Ravens (8-3), Pittsburgh, and Cleveland, who sit tied at 6-3. In 2023, Burrow has thrown for 2,309 yards, 15 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, and 88 rushing yards.
With the injury report investigation and Burrow's injury, the Bengals have a lot to contend with finishing out the season. The Bengals face the Pittsburgh Steelers at home on Sunday, November 26th.
