The Houston Texans added depth to their talent-laden receiving corps by signing Quintez Cephus. However, as training camp starts, he must prove worthy of an active roster spot against his fellow wideouts.
Since entering the league as a fifth-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, Cephus has 37 receptions for 568 yards and four touchdowns in 22 career games. However, he hasn't played since 2022 because of the indefinite suspension he received for violating the league's gambling policy after being caught betting on NFL games. That decision kept him out of football for 2023 and cost him a spot in the Detroit Lions roster.

The Buffalo Bills gave him a chance, signing him to a one-year contract this April. Unfortunately, the Bills released him a month later. Now with the Texans, Cephus will compete for a place in the 53-man lineup with Nico Collins, Tank Dell, Stefon Diggs, Robert Woods, John Metchie III, Noah Brown, and Ben Skowronek.
