The Jacksonville Jaguars and cornerback Tyson Campbell have agreed to a four-year, $76.5 million contract extension. The deal includes $54.3 million in guaranteed money and will keep him signed with Jacksonville until 2028, barring any trade.
The $19.125 million annual average of his lucrative contract makes him the sixth highest-paid NFL cornerback, trailing Jaire Alexander, Denzel Ward, Jalen Ramsey, Marlon Humphrey, Marshon Lattimore, and Trevon Diggs. However, Campbell has the highest yearly pay for a cornerback with no Pro Bowl selections.
The Jaguars selected Campbell as the first pick in Round 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft. A year later, he had his best season as a pro, tallying 70 tackles, 15 passes defended, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble.

However, as the Jaguars expected Campbell to elevate his game further, a hamstring injury limited him to 11 games last season. Despite that setback, the former Georgia standout still finished with 60 tackles, five pass deflections, and an interception.
Campbell’s contract extension came after the Jaguars completed multi-year deals with quarterback Trevor Lawrence and outside linebacker Joshua Hines-Allen. Campbell is projected as one of Jacksonville’s starting cornerbacks opposite Ronald Darby.
