Seahawks Sign Connor Williams to One-Year Deal

The Seattle Seahawks and center Connor Williams have agreed to a one-year, $6 million contract. The deal includes $3 million in guaranteed money. After stints with the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins, the Seahawks will be his third NFL team.

Williams was relatively healthy earlier in his career, playing double-digit games from 2018 to 2022. Unfortunately, various injuries limited him to nine games last season. In addition to a Week 3 groin injury, the offensive lineman from Texas suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Week 14.

While his return to action remains uncertain, he’s a solid player when healthy. Pro Football Focus awarded him an overall grade of 86.5 and 90.5 in run blocking. Williams will join the Seahawks’ center rotation with Olu Oluwatimi and Nick Harris. Meanwhile, he could start alongside Charles Cross and Laken Tomlinson as Geno Smith’s protectors.

The Cowboys selected him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. After playing out his rookie contract, he signed a two-year, $14 million contract with the Dolphins. It was in Miami that he transitioned from offensive guard to center.

Connor Williams has started in 77 of 83 career games. He also had a seven-yard fumble recovery in 2022.
