Cowboys Sign DL Linval Joseph To One-Year Deal

The Dallas Cowboys have signed defensive lineman Linval Joseph to a one-year deal that could earn him up to $4 million. The Cowboys will be Joseph’s sixth NFL team since entering the league in 2010.

Last season, he played seven games with the Buffalo Bills, tallying 12 tackles and a sack. In 2022, Joseph appeared in eight games for the Philadelphia Eagles, collecting 20 tackles during the Super Bowl-winning season.

The New York Giants selected the defensive tackle from East Carolina in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. After playing out his rookie contract, Joseph signed a five-year, $31.5 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

With Minnesota, he became among the league’s best defensive linemen, earning consecutive Pro Bowl selections in 2016 and 2017. He had 145 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles in those two seasons.

After the Vikings, he joined the Los Angeles Chargers on a two-year, $17 million contract. He finished his stint with Los Angeles’ AFC team with 119 tackles and a sack in 30 games. Joseph’s signing comes after the Cowboys signed defensive end Carl Lawson.
