Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane was nursing an ankle injury leading into their Thursday Night Football showdown with the Buffalo Bills. However, it didn’t look like the uncomfortable condition bothered him because he completed a masterful performance for the losing squad.
While the Dolphins did not win, this game could solidify Achane’s spot as the team’s starting RB. Raheem Mostert may have a case for that spot, but the backfield sensation from Texas A&M made the most of his opportunity. With Mostert out due to a chest injury, Achane punished the Bills defense as a runner and a pass-catcher.
Achane finished the TNF duel with 22 carries for 96 yards. He added seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown to become a nightmare that Buffalo could not contain. His touchdown catch came in the first quarter when Tua Tagovailoa found him for a five-yard strike that tied the game at seven.

However, while the second-year player from Missouri City kept gaining yards and moving the chains, he did not cross the goal line again. Achane scored Miami’s only touchdown, and no one else than Jason Sanders added to the Dolphins’ score.
From a fantasy football perspective, Achane’s owners are celebrating because of the massive haul of points he delivered. Pro Football Reference revealed that Achane’s Week 2 production translated into 22.5 points in standard mode. The Dolphins may have lost, but those who drafted De’Von Achane get a boost in their weekly head-to-head matchup.
