Finishing with only 258 yards on offense doesn’t guarantee an NFL victory. However, the Detroit Lions bucked that notion by one-upping the Tennessee Titans in all three units. The Dan Campbell-coached squad tallied a season-high 52 points by getting points on special teams.
While Jake Bates converted only one field goal, Kalif Raymond had a 90-yard punt return touchdown to stretch Detroit’s advantage to 49-14. That touchdown gave Raymond 190 punt return yards on five attempts.
Those yards allowed Jared Goff to complete touchdown passes to Raymond, Brock Wright, and Amon-Ra St. Brown on just 85 passing yards. Even running back David Montgomery completed a three-yard touchdown pass to Sam LaPorta before halftime.

Meanwhile, Jahmyr Gibbs had 11 carries for 127 yards and a touchdown. Most of his production came from his 70-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, placing Detroit in front, 14-7. However, Mason Rudolph completed a five-yard pass to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to level the count at 14.
From there, the Lions scored 38 unanswered points to seal their sixth victory in seven games. Their defense was also on point, tallying two interceptions courtesy of Trevor Nowaske and Kerby Joseph.
Conversely, the Titans fall to 1-6 and have lost three straight games. They will try to bounce back against the New England Patriots in Week 9. The Lions will try to extend their five-game winning streak by defeating their division rivals, the Green Bay Packers, at Lambeau Field.
