Mike Evans On Track To Return in Week 12

As Fox Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans could return to action in Week 12 against the New York Giants. He has been sidelined since Week 7 due to a hamstring injury, making it more challenging to maintain his streak of consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

Meanwhile, NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport noted that Evans was a full participant during their Thursday practice for the Colts game. That’s a good indication of his availability for Sunday, which is a much-needed boost for the struggling Buccaneers.

Evans’ return could signal Tampa Bay’s push for a playoff berth and, possibly, the NFC South division title. As for Evans, he will have seven games remaining to reach 1,000 yards. He will need at least 665 yards to secure his 11th consecutive 1,000-yard season, meaning he must average 95 yards per game throughout their remaining schedule.

Evans holds the record for most consecutive seasons of 1,000 yards to begin a career with ten. Collecting that many yards made him the youngest player to reach 6,000 and 7,000 yards. He’s also the youngest player to have at least 200 yards in a game and the youngest NFL player to have six seasons of at least 1,000 yards.
