Sunday morning injury updates

Hurt guys generally playing

The injury updates are rolling out, and looks like a lot of injured guys are either gutting it out through injuries or (like Patrick Mahomes) weren't really all that hurt in the first place. Lots of questionable guys will apparently be suiting up today.

  • Tony Pollard (ankle) didn't practice all week, but as Allen Iverson might dismissively say, who cares. Pollard is expected to play today, rendering the appeal of Tyjae Spears minimal. The division of labor isn't clear in this backfield, but Pollard is risky for maybe aggravating the injury and having to leave early, and Spears is risky for not getting enough work if Pollard stays on the field.

  • Tyrone Tracy (ankle) is expected to play for the Giants against Atlanta. Tracy got in limited practice this week, so that one's not surprising. Alas, he plays in the league's worst offense and will lose work for some reason to Devin Singletary, but you can't have everything.

  • Tyreek Hill (wrist) is expected to play for the Dolphins. Not surprising. Jaylen Waddle is out, so it will be Hill and Malik Washington against the 49ers at wide receiver.

  • Jalen Coker (quad) is expected to play for Carolina, getting him on the radar as a desperation receiver choice (I'm desperate and will be starting him). Carolina should also have David Moore (concussion), but Coker is the more likely No. 2 across from Adam Thielen.

  • Zach Ertz (concussion) will apparently clear the concussion protocol to face his former team, the Eagles.

  • Cade Otton has been ruled out for the Bucs. Payne Durham will fill in. He has 2 catches on the season.

  • A note about Saints-Packers tomorrow night: Alvin Kamara, Derek Carr and Chris Olave have all been ruled out. Marquez Valdes-Scantling (chest) didn't practice all week, but he's questionable. Kendre Miller starts at running back and is viable, given the fact that New Orleans' other running back, Jamaal Williams, is totally washed, but it should be noted that the Saints offense is going to be really, really bad.

  • One more note about Saints-Packers: hourly forecast indicates it will be snowing during the day, but snow should be over by gametime (at least according to the reports). These things aren't always accurate, but it doesn't look like they'll be trying to pass the ball in a blizzard or anything. It will be about 30 degrees, as you might expect from a night game in Green Bay this time of year.

If I see anything else of note in the next couple of hours, I'll post in the comments below.
