I just made it through the first edition of the league’s new injury report (teams don’t list players as probable any more). Any concerns can be put to rest. It’s pretty much the same as the old one.
Only real difference is there’s less mention of guys who are clearly going to play anyway.
Brandon Marshall and Quincy Enunwa, for example, both would have been listed as “probable” last year. This year, there’s some mention of them being limited in practice or practicing fully, but they don’t appear on the Injury Report proper. Not a major change.
Some teams might be now be listing probable guys as questionable. The Lions, for example, list both Golden Tate and Eric Ebron as questionable, but both practiced fully and both Thursday and Friday. That’s good enough for me – no reason to think about sitting down Tate for health reasons, in my opinion. He’s playing.
Bottom line: it’s pretty much identical.
I’ve just finished making the adjustments to the rankings (and there are a lot of them). I went through the lists carefully on Thursday, moving guys up and down a spot or two here and there, and there were some larger movers today. The Friday product (with the Thur-Fri notes) just left my computer. There’s some tech prep stuff that needs to be handled, but the guys are working on it. If you’re a subscriber, you can expect to see it about 7 pm Pacific (10 pm Eastern).
