Zipping through the morning injury update. Not a ton of surprises, but some developments, including ones that involve players already known to be out.
One of key guys who is expected to play is Lions tight end Sam LaPorta (calf). He should be fine for today.
Couple of longer-term updates. DeVon Achane (knee) isn't expected to miss any more than the 4 games required by him placed on IR. In contrast, Anthony Richardson (shoulder) may be looking at a surgical procedure which could/would knock him out for the season. Probably more news on that one this week.
Deshaun Watson (shoulder) does indeed appear to be hurt - a "rotator cuff contusion" according to Adam Schefter. That's bad news for Cleveland's offense, which will start P.J. Walker today, and perhaps beyond.
The Giants are "optimistic and hopeful" that Saquon Barkley (ankle) will play tonight. I particularly hate the "hopeful" term, since that's totally meaningless -- it doesn't imply anything at all. We're all hopeful about a lot of things. Optimistic, though, is a plus, but if you're planning on starting Barkley in primetime tonight, might be good to roster someone else from the Giants, Bills, or Monday teams (Cowboys-Chargers) in case Barkley doesn't look good in pregame warmups or something.
Same game, both Darren Waller (groin) and Dawson Knox (wrist) are expected to play.
For the Texans, Tank Dell (concussion) is not expected to be available. That was the expectation in the Friday update, so other involved players (Nico Collins) are ranked appropriately.
In the London game going on right now, Ryan Tannehill (ankle) has been knocked out of the game, and it might turn out to be a multi-week injury. He missed a chunk of last season due to an ankle injury, as well.
