Texans' Stroud: I'm happy just to do my job again

QB is ready to return after clearing concussion protocol

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud is expected to start on Sunday.

Stroud announced Friday, "I'm Back!'

Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud returned to practice this week after clearing concussion protocol with the expectation to start against the Tennessee Titans at home on Sunday.

In a statement to the media, Stroud said, “It’s great being back, I missed it. It was tough. It wasn’t easy, but my teammates held it down as best as they could, and I appreciate them for that. Now I’m back, and I’m happy to be here, and I’m happy just to do my job again.”

The rookie QB re-joined his teammates in limited practice on Wednesday after a two-game absence due to a concussion he suffered during a loss to the New York Jets.

Stroud has had an amazing rookie season with 3,631 yards, 20 TDs, 5 INTs, 62.4 completion percentage culminating in a QB rating of 98.7. Missing two games as effectively stopped his bid for a 5,000 yard season as predicted three weeks ago.

The Texans are currently on the bubble for the AFC's final wild-card spot and have a 36 percent of making the playoffs with a win this Sunday. They will face the Colts in Indianapolis to finish the regular season.
