I think they changed something with the schedule-making policy. Both Miami and Green Bay are in the process of playing four straight games at home. I don’t remember seeing that before.
The Packers hosted Detroit in Week 3, and their next three are all also at Lambeau: Giants, Cowboys, Bears.
The Dolphins are playing the Titans, Steelers and Bills in their next three, followed by a bye, and then another home game, against the Chargers. With them playing their Week 3 game at Cincinnati on a Thursday, that will be 43 days between road games, probably an all-time record.
Later in the year, the Raiders play four straight at home (though one of those “home” games is in Mexico against the Texans.
No team plays four straight on the road.
I looked into this some, checking the schedules for 2000 thru 2015.
In 2008, the Texans played four straight at home, but that was assisted by a re-schedule during the season – the league moved their Week 2 game against Baltimore to their Week 9 bye because of Hurricane Ike (they needed time to make repairs to Reliant Stadium).
In 2015, the Tennessee Titans played four straight at home.
But that’s it.
With it occurring three times this year, I believe the league has changed some of its scheduling conditions.
