Panthers part ways with head coach Frank Reich

Caroline Panthers' owner David Tepper made the announcement Monday morning

After just 11 games, Frank Reich has been let go by the Carolina Panthers it was announced Monday morning.

The Panthers have the worst record in the NFL sitting at 1-10 and are headed to a sixth straight losing season since owner David Tepper purchased the team in 2018.

"I met with Coach Reich this morning and informed him that he will not continue as head coach of the Carolina Panthers," Tepper said in a released statement. "I want to thank Frank for his dedication and service, and we wish him well."

Special teams coach Chris Tabor has been appointed as the team's interim head coach with OC Thomas Brown taking over playcalling duties along with senior assistant Jim Caldwell.

Frank Reich's tenure with the Panthers was brief. He signed a four-year contract in January, following his dismissal from the Indianapolis Colts in November 2022. Reich's previous coaching record included a 40-33-1 run over four-plus seasons with the Colts, with a 1-2 record in the postseason.

Reich's career has been marked by significant achievements, both as a player and a coach. As a player, he participated in four Super Bowls with the Buffalo Bills, mostly in a backup role. As a coach, he secured a Super Bowl victory with the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2017 season while serving as the offensive coordinator.

Carolina plays the 4-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, December 3rd.
